New IHG Rewards Club Point Breaks List: Hotels for $35 a Night Until August 31, 2013!
The IHG Rewards Club Point Breaks List came out today! These are properties where you can book rewards nights for just 5,000 Priority Club points until August 31, 2013. This particular list does have some nice highlights, including quite a few Intercontinental and properties in Europe. We all know we like Europe in summer! It’s also been a while since we’ve seen this many InterContinental Properties on the list:

I previously wrote about how you can get any hotel on the list for $35 a night by using the cash and points trick summarized in the following steps:
- Have 5,000 points in your account
- Buy additional increments of 10,000 points for $70 by booking hotels that cost 15,000 a night
- Cancel the reservation to have the 15,000 points (10,000 of which you bought for $70) deposited back into your account.
- Repeat as many times as you want to get additional increments of 10,000 Priority Club points for $70
Read my post for details and screenshots on how to do this. It’s pretty easy to pull off and get hotes for $35 a night! You can also transfer Priority Club points from Ultimate Rewards, but the 0.7 cents per point trick is far more lucrative.
Nights booked with IHG Rewards Club points can be cancelled until 6 pm the day of check-in so if you find properties that might work for you, you should definitely book now. The good properties on the list will not last long as hotel has only a limited number of nights it can sell at this rate. It’s also a good idea to book in one-night increments so you can easily cancel nights you don’t want in case your dates change.

Just to clarify…. you have to book by August 31st or you have to complete travel by August 31st?

Complete travel by August 31… which, of course, means you have to book by then too :)
Are you sure you can cancel by 6pm? Just cancelled one, and I get this alarming, but kind of vague message about cancellation:
“A cancellation penalty equal to 1 night per room will be charged to your credit card on file.Canceling your reservation or failing to show will result in a charge for 1 night per room to your credit card. Taxes may apply. Failing to call or show before check-out time after the first night of a reservation will result in cancellation of the remainder of your reservation.”
Obviously, no credit card payment was to be made, but are the points reimbursed?
