Starwood “Take Two” Promotion: Double Points For Stays Sep 1 – Dec 15, 2013
Starwood has announced a new promotion where guests can earn double base points for stays between Sep 1 and Dec 15, 2013. As an extra bonus, you earn 2,500 points for every 5 nights up to a maximum of 10,000 bonus points (for 20 nights). The bonus is only given for paid nights and any Award or Cash and Points nights do not count.
Registration is not open yet and will become available at the end of August, but you can sign up for an alert when registration starts by texting TAKE2 to 44264.
The main downside of the promotion is the lengthy list of hotels not participating in the double points. So, if you have any stays planned with Starwood, do make sure that your hotel is not on the list.
As usual, the Hotel Promotions page on the site has been updated.
My thoughts:
I would not say this is a particularly exciting promotion where it makes sense to move hotel stays to Starwood simply to take advantage of the promotion. Of course, if you do have stays already planned with Starwood, you should certainly sign up. I am a far bigger fan of the “Stay 2 nights, get a night free” Megabonus promotion that Marriott has been running again and again recently.
