Promotion: American Airlines AAdvantage Award Flights to Hawaii 15k Miles Each Way

American Airlines is currently running a promotion on using AAdvantage miles to book award trips to Hawaii. For tickets booked by September 13, 2013 and travel dates September 11 to December 17, 2013, Economy MileSAAver space to Hawaii will cost just 15,000 American Airlines AAdvantage miles each way.

These tickets typically cost 17,500 miles each way during the off-peak period from Aug 22 – Dec 15 so it’s about a 5,000 mile discount off the round-trip price. During peak season, they cost 22,500 miles each way. This means that if you happen to fly on Dec 16 or 17, you will be saving 7,500 miles each way.

If you do want to get in on this deal, make sure to book your flight by September 13. To search for availability, simply visit the American Airlines website and type in your dates and cities and make sure to check Redeem Miles.

You will then need to look for the light green award availability that comes up at 15,000 miles each way.

While this can certainly be a nice deal if you’re just trying to plan a trip to Hawaii in the next few months and do not live on the west coast, don’t forget some other great deals for using miles to get to Hawaii on American Airlines or Alaska Airlines:

• If you decide to return from Hawaii after October 15 and are thinking of going to Europe next summer, you can try to combine the two legs and get the both together for just 20,000 American Airlines miles total.
