Saturday Morning Miles News: Southwest Caribbean Routes, United Devaluation

Southwest New Caribbean Routes

Southwest has announced some new destinations with the following routes starting July 1. Their current schedule is available until August 8 so some of these trips are already bookable for summer.

  • Aruba from Orlando, Atlanta and Baltimore.
  • Montego Bay from Orlando, Atlanta, Baltimore and Chicago.
  • Nassau from Baltimore and Atlanta.

This is particularly exciting for those that have the Southwest Companion Pass as these routes are eligible. Samba for Miles’ parents have successfully earned the Southwest Companion Pass last year and have been flying together only paying for one ticket (paying with miles, of course!)

United Devaluation Postponed to February 3

The United Airlines Mileage Plus devaluation has been pushed back by two days. This gives us until the end of tomorrow to book our pre-devaluation tickets! For a full update on the upcoming United Airlines devaluation and a comparison between the old and new rates, check out my previous post: United Airlines Devaluation for MileagePlus Award Tickets.

  1. you can still act now, go to United FB & twitter page to voice your outrage and disappoinment over the extreme 87% increase devaluation!

  2. Excited about new Southwest destinations… Too bad their reservation system does not work properly… search for LGA-AUA flights comes back with an error…
