Friday Update: Chase Adds Partner, Expiring Ink 60k and US Airways Buy Miles Offers

Happy Friday and I hope everyone has some nice plans for the holiday weekend. Let’s do a quick catch-up on some news items and expiring deals.

Chase Ultimate Rewards New Transfer Partner

Chase Ultimate Rewards has added a new transfer partners: Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer. As with all other partners, the transfer ratio is 1:1. I typically transfer my Ultimate Rewards to United, British Airways and Hyatt Gold Passport, but the addition of Singapore Airlines makes them even more valuable. The real advantage is that Singapore Airlines makes some premium cabin award space (Business Class and First Class) available for redemption with its own miles. Singapore Airlines definitely sets the standard in airline luxury so this is a very nice new opportunity to use Chase Ultimate Rewards points!

Chase Ink Bold® Business Charge Card/Chase Ink Plus® Business Card 60,000 Point Bonus Officially Ends June 1

Note: This offer has now expired. Please visit the Chase Ink Bold and Chase Ink Plus credit card page for the latest offer.

The Chase Ink Bold and Chase Ink Plus credit cards have their increased sign-up bonuses ending next Sunday, June 1. Until then, you receive 60,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points after spending $5,000 on the card within 3 months of account opening. I really like Chase Ultimate Rewards points for their ability to transfer to (now eleven) different airline and hotel partners. The card offers 5 points per dollar at office supply stores, where I typically will buy gift cards to other merchants. I previously wrote about the offer when I rounded up the new bonuses at the start of the month.

US Airways Buy Miles 100% Bonus Ends May 25

The US Airways Buy Miles Promotion (detailed review) ends in two days on May 25. The promotion allows us to buy up to 100,000 miles essentially at 1.88 cents each. Although that’s not incredibly cheap and this is not as good a deal as the Share Miles promotion, it could be a good deal for those looking to redeem on oneworld partners for business class tickets. As an example, 110,000 miles will buy you a round-trip business class ticket to North Asia with a free stopover in Europe along the way, allowing you to fly Cathay Pacific. Of course, the easiest way to pick up 40,000 US Airways Dividend miles is by signing up for the US Airways World MasterCard. It’s currently offering 40,000 miles immediately after the first purchase and no minimum spending requirement.

  1. OH WOW! A good part of the allure of Amex MR points for me has been the ability to transfer to Krisflyer. And now with this option available with Chase UR points… I may be more likely to keep a premium Chase card around and less likely to renew my Amex cards.

Having flown business and suite class on Singapore, I am spoiled for life!

Unfortunately, their taxes on award redemptions are really painfully high :(.

Anyway, thanks for sharing the news!

  2. If I already have an Ink and Ink Plus –but in the older MC versions.. do I need to close these down before applying for the newer Visa versions? Thanks.. I enjoy your blog

  3. I see you show Chase Ink Bold/Plus cards but no links to applications. I’d prefer to give you the credit if you can provide a link
