Delta: $500 Fares to Kauai from Charlotte and Philadelphia!

The Flight Deal just posted one of the lowest fares I’ve ever seen to the beautiful island of Kauai that seems to be good through next June. This includes winter travel for late 2014/early 2015. It seems that Delta is currently attacking US Airways at its hubs so it’s not clear how long this fare will last. I am, unfortunately, all planned out on winter travel already so won’t be taking advantage of it.

Visit The Flight Deal’s page: $519: Philadelphia – Kauai, Hawaii. Roundtrip, including all Taxes for full details on how to book!

I recently visited Kauai in December and loved it. Kauai quickly became my favorite island due to its unparalleled natural beauty. I was glad to have four nights there to thoroughly do everything we wanted to do… and we kept our days busy. We took a boat cruise to the Na Pali Coast since that was a big highlight of the island for us. We also had some nice times spent driving around and touring the sights: Waimea Canyon, Hanalei Bay and a drive to Polihale Beach.

Here are my posts from the trip:

How to Use Miles for The Trip

Great deals don’t always come up with miles and this is a great deal we’ll have to pay for with cash if we decide to book. This is exactly the kind of situation when the Barclaycard Arrival Plus World Elite MasterCard comes in handy, which comes with a $440 travel credit as a sign-up bonus (in the form of 40,000 miles that can be redeemed at one cent each). This travel credit can be used on any travel expense by just putting it on your card and then redeeming the miles for a statement credit. In my mind, these miles are as good as cash. The card also earns 2 point per dollar on all spending, amounting to a 2.2% cash back on all spending that is highly flexible to spend on any kind of travel – flights, hotels, taxis, trains, car rentals, etc. Although there isn’t time to sign up for the card to pay for this deal, those that already have the Barclaycard Arrival and can use those points here are certainly in luck!
