Chase Ink Plus 70,000 Point Sign-Up Bonus At Bank Branch

Note: The 70,000 point offer may not be available in all bank branches and I don’t know when it will stop being available.

It was reported today that Chase Ink Plus® is currently running a 70,000 points sign-up bonus after spending $5,000 within 3 months at the local bank branch. The $95 annual fee is not waived. This is far better than the current best publicly available internet offer that offers 50,000 points for the same spending requirement and a waived annual fee. 20,000 points is worth far more than the $95 annual fee so any of us should be gladly willing to pay $95 for the extra 20,000 points.

Chase Ink Credit Cards Overview

Among the two Chase Ink cards, there are two credit cards: Chase Ink Bold® and Chase Ink Plus®.These two cards are exactly the same except that Chase Ink Plus is a credit card while Chase Ink Bold is a charge card.

Transfer to Partners

These cards earn Chase Ultimate Rewards points, which are are a valuable, flexible currency. The points can be transferred 1:1 to 10 different airline and hotel partners including United Airlines, British Airways, Hyatt Gold Passport, etc. For those who are don’t want to deal with miles or find good value purchasing tickets, you can redeem each point at 1 cent cash back (10,000 points = $100) or 1.25 cents toward airline tickets (10,000 points = $125).

As an added bonus, Ultimate Rewards points earned with the non-premium versions of the Chase cards such as Chase Freedom or Chase Ink Cash can be combined with points in the premium cards: Chase Ink Bold, Chase Ink Plus, Chase Sapphire Preferred. Then all the points become transferable to airline and hotel partners.

Extra Bonuses: 5 Points per Dollar and Ultimate Rewards Mall

The cards also give access to the Ultimate Rewards Mall, a shopping portal to earn extra points when shopping online at merchants like Macy’s, Staples, Sephora, drugstore.com, etc.

Lastly, one of the Ink Cards’ most attractive feature is to be able to earn 5 points per dollar on the first $50,000 spent annually at office supply stores, and on cellular phone, landline, internet, and cable TV services.

How to Get the 70,000 Point Sign-Up Bonus

The 70,000 point offer is readily available at the local bank branch so you can just stop in and sign up there. This will be the most sure-fire way to ensure that you will be getting the 70,000 point offer.

Chase is also quite good at matching for those who applied to a lower offer in the past 90 days. I know many got in on the 60,000 point offer recently for the Chase Ink Bold or the Chase Ink Plus. For those who happened to sign-up for the Chase Ink Plus, I’d suggest sending Chase a secure message in your account asking to be matched to this better offer. A number of people had already asked and reported success with getting the additional 10,000 points as a sign-up bonus.

Another potential option is to sign-up for the current 50,000 point bonus online for the Ink Plus. If approved, then send Chase a secure message asking to be matched to the better publicly available offer.

(I don’t know who reported this offer first, but I personally read about it on View from the Wing).

  1. HI, I live in Hawaii and I do not believe we have a Chase Bank-this must be done in person?
thank you by the way , I got my 20,000 plus my 30,000 miles from Miles & More -Luthansa:)

    1. You can try to apply online for the 50,000 offer and ask for a match to the 70,000 one once approved via secure message in your Chase account, but in person is a definite guarantee to get the 70,000 point offer if approved.

  2. My current MC Ink Bold is being phased out and replaced by Visa in a week. Too bad I am still working on my second Citi Executive $10K in three months for 100K miles. I applied thru your link on Sunday July 13th and was approved on 7/15. I guess I pass this time because I can’t spend $15K in three months.

  3. I also read about this deal first with View from the Wing. I appreciate your candor admitting that you read about this deal from another blogger. I read a couple of other bloggers who are obviously reporting items read from other bloggers, but they do not credit the other blogger as courteously.

  4. Thanks for the info! But I already applied and approved for Ink Plus on May when they have 60k offer. Can I write a secure message to Chase to match the 10k difference? But since I am new to this I have no idea how to write to them, would you mind to please advise and give example on what to write in the message to them to match the sign up bonus. Thanks a lot in advance!

  5. I didn’t receive the bonus b/c they said my 60k bonus didn’t have $95 fee. Do you think it’s worth it to spend $95 for 10k UR points? I’ve yet to use my UR points so I’m not sure how valuable they are to me personally (I know UR are the best reward points…)

    1. UR points can always be redeemed at 1 cent for actual cash back so the worst case scenario is those 10,000 points will be worth $100 as true cash. However, you can transfer them to a few good airline and hotel partners to often get better value than that.

  6. I went to local Chase Bank, to apply for Chase Ink, however they told me that only those having buisness can apply and not some one just selling under his name on E-bay

  7. Just returned from Chase branch in our town to apply for the Ink Plus in my wife’s name (I already have the Bold @ 60,000 points). Took about 30 mins for the representative to input info. Basic questions…only employee, sole proprietor, estimated yearly income from business you are using for the card, total gross income. Showed 2 forms of ID, rep clicked on apply and got approved on the spot for the 70,000 points! Sweet!
