Amex Business Platinum Sending Out Targeted Offers for 150,000 Points
American Express seems to love my mom! Last year, she received an offer for 75,000 Membership Rewards points for the Business Gold Rewards card and an offer for 100,000 Membership Rewards points for the Business Platinum card simultaneously. As the Business Gold Rewards card had a waived annual fee of $175 the first year and the Platinum Card’s $450 was not waived, we decided to go with the Business Golds Reward offer.
It turns out that was the right decision as she got an even better offer for the Amex Business Platinum Card this year: 150,000 Membership Rewards points after spending $20,000 within 3 months (100,000 points after the first $10,000 and another 50,000 points after spending an additional $10,000 during those 3 months). The annual fee on the card is also $450. That is an extremely high spending requirement and a high annual fee, but we do have a number of strategies for meeting that spending requirement. The card also provides a $200 airline fee credit on a selected airline every year, which offsets the annual fee somewhat. In any case, I am very excited… I like to make every credit card application really count and this is the highest sign-up bonus I’ve seen for any card.
Membership Rewards points transfer 1:1 to more than 10 different airline partners, including British Airways, Delta, Jet Blue, Virgin Atlantic, etc. They also sometimes offer transfer bonuses of 25-50%, which is when I personally prefer to make my transfers! I like to use British Airways miles for short flights and flights to the Caribbean, which can cost as little as 4,500 miles each way!
When my mom called me and told me about the offer, the one thing I was worried about was that she may not be eligible for the offer given she already has the Business Gold Rewards Card. However, the terms and conditions state that only those who specifically have or have had the Business Platinum Card within the past 12 months are not eligible. After she applied online with the offer code, we had to call American Express customer service just to verify personal details and the approval was instantaneous. 150,000 points, here we come!
I really have no idea how to get targeted for these offers. I personally haven’t been and, if I knew how, I’d certainly do it myself. But watch your mail just in case!
i wish I got that offer. does your Mom have other Amex cards open other than the gold?
She has Starwood Preferred Guest also and the Costco Amex they got a very long time ago.
Don’t forget that the platinum card also gives you one person the government custom speed lane (you have to apply) so that’s a 495 savings as well. So we save 695 there (495 + 200). I also fly through Dallas and the centurion club for lunch or dinner for my family (platinum gets access) saves another 40-80 a trip and the food there is A+++

A few months go I ignored a 100,000 offer b/c of the annual fee. Last week I got the 150,000 offer! After looking into it more I couldn’t come up with a reason not to get it. I’ve had my LLC since 2011, only had a few business cards associated with it until recently, and the only amex card I’ve ever had was the delta amex back in 2007. I have no idea why I was targeted either, but this is definitely going to work in my favor…

My offer is for 150k after 15k spend. (100k after 5k spend, and 50k more after 10k more spend.)

Every targeted offer comes with its own code and the code can only be used once by the person targeted. Unfortunately, they are not reusable.
I somehow got an offer sent to my moms house (but addressed to me). I have barely any income and no Amex cards so I really dont know how I got this offer.
I just received my 150k offer AmEx Business Plat and received a 75k Gold business offer, so I’m wondering for clarification I can only get the second card 12 months after opening the card or closing the card?
Congratulations on receiving so many great offers! The restrictions for the offer should be stated on your invitation letter – as an example, for my mom, it said “You are not eligible if you had product x or y within the last 12 months”
