US Airways award to Asia with stopover in Europe

The Miles Professor Partners With Award Magic

There’s no question travel with miles opens up possibilities for dream trips most of us could not afford otherwise. In the past year, I’ve taken big trips to Hawaii, Singapore, Thailand, Japan, Czech Republic, Austria and have a trip coming up to Argentina and Easter Island this December. These are far away destinations, but I managed to find business class tickets and use miles for all of them.

Here, at The Miles Professor, I try to teach everyone to be able to do the same and have written a number of posts on how to plan some big trips with miles. And while the trips themselves are exciting, it sure does take a lot of work to organize the miles, find the award space and finally book the trip. Those who travel with families or multiple people find it even more difficult.  I know lots of people have been asking me lately if I offer an award booking service or can recommend one. Well, for everyone with those question, I have good news: I am now partnered with Award Magic to provide everyone an award booking service.

If you are thinking of planning a trip and do need some help, you can fill out the form below or visit the Award Magic Website to read the Award Magic Full FAQ.

  1. Is there an area for notes on the request form? There are normally pieces of information that are best communicated up front in a search.

  2. So I would have to pay $139 for each ticket? This in addition to the taxes and fees I still have to pay when booking each award ticket. If I can find the time to creatively earn all these miles then I’m sure I can find the time to book my own awards and not spend all that money.

    1. Of course, it would be great if everyone could figure out how to use the miles and find award space efficiently the way you believe you can, but I know I know many people who would happily pay $139 per ticket to save several hours, my parents included… thankfully, they have me!

  3. earning miles is only half of the story, i find it requires way more knowledge in finding and booking awards. there are tools but they all require time and patience to study. if I have the time I would not mind doing it.

  4. Thanks for this great post, professor! ;-) We’re very excited about this new partnership and can’t wait to help your readers with their award booking needs.

    Where to next…?!

  5. This is awesome! However, are you getting a little referral fee at all if we use Award Magic’s service through your link? I hope you do!

  6. Hi, I’m still waiting to hear back from Awards Magic…..filled out the form a couple of days ago. Sure would like to know if I should go on my own for my bookings.

    1. Unfortunately the Jewish Holidays did take a toll on us and we got backed up by a few days. Not to worry, Rosario, you should be reached out to by the time you wake up on Sunday!

  7. I glanced at a few of these type posts over the past month or so. I have never really looked at award booking fees much.. but have everyone’s prices went up this year?
Again, only glancing at the info over the past 2 years or so.. it looks like everyone has upped the cost.
Didn’t they used to almost always be around $100 and not over?
    Just curious.
It would be nice if a blogger documented this info as well. And if someone would give a non-biased review of award bookings.

      1. To our knowledge, most other companies charge between $250 and $300 for tea two person booking. We charge $278 – right in the middle.

I suspect we’re pretty competitively priced.

  8. I just used Award Magic for the 1st time and I am impressed. They were able to in a period of 4 hours time to find the 1st class itinerary to Europe I asked for the dates, routing and airline I requested.

I did try one of their competitors about 1 month ago. I asked for 1st class to Asia and also a separate 1st class trip to South America. The results were extremely slow response times, less than direct routing and the need to buy both air tickets to fill gaps and hotel rooms to accommodate the poor routing. IMHO this defeats the purpose of using miles for travel.

After the experience my thought was that using a booking assistance may not be worthwhile. However I decided to try 1 more company, Award Magic.

Fortunately my experience with Award Magic was 100% positive and well worth the price. There is an area for notes, and I disqualified one airline completely. For those that believe they can do better on their own, best of luck. Make 40-50 phone calls and speak with the high % of airline representatives that are clueless and are of no help.

  9. Hi, I have 60000 AA miles and my wife has 195000 AA miles. We are looking to book a trip from ORD via Iberia to FCO. Is this something you can do – the 2 frequent flyer accounts?

    1. Sorry left out some information. We are looking to find a booking for the four people on 60k AASaver Awards roundtrips to Europe.

  10. Where is AwardMagic located? I looked at the site (and on the web) and could not find any information about the company itself, which is highly unusual.
